Which network should you choose for USDT or USDC?

A stablecoin ticker is not a network. Match the source balance, the exact destination token and the recipient's deposit network before sending.

Choose the network your recipient actually accepts, then choose the corresponding token. USDT and USDC exist on multiple blockchains. A familiar ticker, a low withdrawal fee or a matching wallet address does not make those network assets interchangeable. For a swap, you must identify both where your funds are now and where the payout must arrive.

Start with the network of your existing balance

Open the token details in your source wallet. Note its network and, for a token, the contract or mint. If your USDC is on Base, selecting Ethereum USDC in a swap form does not move that balance to Ethereum. In a custodial exchange, inspect the withdrawal screen: the network selected there determines what is sent, even when the account balance is presented as one USDC total.

This table explains network selection, not a promise that every route is currently available on Moss. Availability depends on the selected assets, amount, liquidity and provider conditions. If the form cannot quote the exact destination, do not select a different network merely to make a quote appear.

Match the recipient's deposit instructions

  1. Choose the receiving token

In your destination wallet or exchange, open Receive or Deposit for USDT or USDC. These are different tokens, so confirm which one the recipient supports.

  2. Choose its supported network

Read the network label before copying the address. If the platform offers Ethereum but not Base for that token, a Base payout is not an acceptable substitute. Also check its deposit minimum and any required extra instructions.

  3. Match the swap output exactly

Select that same network in the receiving asset picker. Check the token identifier shown by the route. Only after the selection matches should you enter the recipient and compare the quote.

  4. Review before sending

Verify the recipient again, reserve the source-network fee, and follow the prepared deposit instructions. A small test can reduce address-selection risk, but it must satisfy the route and recipient minimums and carries its own fees.

Verify the token, not just the name

Native USDC and bridged representations can have similar names but different contracts. Look up the relevant mainnet entry in Circle's USDC contract directory. For USDT, consult Tether's supported protocols and your receiving platform's instructions. Never use a contract address as your personal recipient address.

On Moss, the default SOL to USDC page selects Ethereum USDC, while BTC to USDT selects Ethereum USDT. Neither default means Solana USDC or TRON USDT. You can change the output network in the form when that asset is listed and a route is available.

Choose by compatibility first, fees second

A cheaper network is useful only if you can receive and use the resulting token there. Consider future gas, the recipient's minimum and the cost of another transfer if you later need a different chain. Stablecoins also carry issuer and market risks; they are not guaranteed bank cash. Read swap fees and minimums and the Moss security notes before funding a route.

Can I send Ethereum USDT directly to a TRON USDT address?

No. Those are different networks. Use a correctly selected cross-chain route if available, or another supported method. Do not send an Ethereum token transaction under TRON deposit instructions.

Will an exchange recover a deposit on the wrong network?

Recovery is not guaranteed. It depends on the recipient's custody setup and policy, may involve charges and may be impossible. Contact the receiving platform with the transaction hash; never assume a matching address means it can credit the deposit.

Does receiving USDC provide gas for my next transfer?

Not automatically. A self-custody wallet generally needs the destination network's fee asset for later transactions. Check the wallet or route for any explicitly included gas feature rather than assuming one.
